Starting the Put-In-Bay trip early....

I once told my boss that I don't work very hard (at my place of employment) and that I'm ashamed that I cannot bring myself to do so.  She said, "but your production is above average, I think you're being hard on yourself." I responded in disagreement knowing damn well that on a given day I really only work 10% of the time unless I'm forced to do more (damn phone).  Here's why.  No really, here, what you're currently looking at - is...why.  Don't tell my boss I said this.

After receiving two emails from our personal concierge Nordo, listing good times and events in the coming months, I felt it necessary to bring that all together in a nice orderly fashion - hence the creation of The Great Field Racers' Blog.  Designed to inform and educate our wacky group of up-and-coming events that we all enjoy so well.

I know, I know - a lot of this can be done via Facebook, but you know what - I don't have Facebook and I really don't want it.  I don't want "Greg" from 9th grade attempting to 'friend' me.  I wasn't his friend then, why would I be his friend now?  "Susie" can suck it (not literally), and I don't want to be associated with "Charlie" and his group of misfits.

Why not just block them you ask?  Glad you asked.  Right now to Greg, Susie, and Charlie I am a distant memory that would only be triggered if one of them were browsing the 1999 Magnet (holler bitches!).  Unless one of them has some unhealthy obsession with me, which I'm sure I would have known by now, they don't give a shit about me.  But the second one of them 'friends' me (wouldn't it be "befriends" me in proper English?) and I ignore their request, I then become a jerk.

I am indeed a jerk in some aspects of life (get the fuck up Styx!), but for the most part I am a decent human merely trying to hang out with people with whom I actually enjoy my time.  That's you assholes!

So, I created a Calendar of Events at the bottom of the main page, there will be some additional information listed on the left side of the page, random posts will appear for certain events, the comments section will be open for everyone to discuss things instead of clogging up our email, and yes, I will give the option at the bottom of the posts to send the information to Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, whatever the hell social site you use the most.

We'll see in the next few months is something like this is worth the time.  If it is worth the time then great, I'll do the best that I can to be sure we all know what is going on all of the time.  If it's useless then we'll stop.

If you feel it will be helpful then sign up as a follower and you will automatically receive notification of new events and such.

Take care slimedogs.  Those of you heading to Put-In-Bay this weekend I'll see you tomorrow, everyone else I'll see you whenever.
