The Great Field Racers' Fantasy Football League - Year 3 & STP Show
Hey dudes and chicks. The GFR Fantasy Football League draft is less than 1 week away. A few updates in the days leading up to the fabled event.
1) Please have your team name ready when you arrive for the draft. If you show up un-prepared, the group will assign a name for you.
2) We decided to do a pot-luck dinner so bring something yummy. I can't wait to see what Amanda has up her sleeve, and Kim, canned chicken is OK. Does anyone make a good chili? Note: I know this sucks for those of you not partaking in this event with a significant other because you don't have anyone to share the expenses with, so If you're solo, bring something small like an appetizer/bag of chips. Do what you want.
3) Bring your cash. $10/person.
4) If anyone else is commited to playing and has yet to let Jul know, let her know now, or simply show up on Sunday.
5) Any other questions/comments let Jul know.
Oh snap! I'll hit you guys up on facebook about this too. Man, I don't know what took everyone so long to get Facebook - it's so obvious. I kept telling everyone, "don't hate, it's awesome. You aren't a creeper."
STP:
Curt did we find out if we're getting a limo for the STP show? If not what are our plans for leaving? I got: eat on the way, bring beer to drink, rock our faces off. Anything else?
How was Heathenfest? Wet? We planned on being there but little kids (especially infants) and rain do not mix so well.

It's that time of year again boys. Kids are back to school, football and hockey are becoming interesting again, the gardens have given us a bounty, hunting season is right around the corner, and the Hattz League Invitational is only weeks away!
Please join us for the 3rd Annual Hattz League Invitational, returning to Hiland Golf Course, in Butler, PA.
When: Sunday September 5th
Where: Hiland Golf Course, Butler
What Time: 9:45am (Meet in the back parking lot)
Then What?: We head to the Reges Farm for the after party and awards ceremony (Please bring $5 for food; beer will be available).
Golfing is BYOB - but they prefer that you buy your beer from them. Basically just be careful not to be seen.
We'll be sticking to the same format as past events - 2 man best ball scramble, teams drawn at random.
Can't wait to beat you assholes. See you there!

Put-In-Bay Bitches
Glad everyone made it through the weekend unscathed (well almost, you OK Nordo?). It was a good place and a better time and hope we'll be able to do something similar very soon. A few things to mention and then some pics.

Starting the Put-In-Bay trip early....
I once told my boss that I don't work very hard (at my place of employment) and that I'm ashamed that I cannot bring myself to do so. She said, "but your production is above average, I think you're being hard on yourself." I responded in disagreement knowing damn well that on a given day I really only work 10% of the time unless I'm forced to do more (damn phone). Here's why. No really, here, what you're currently looking at - is...why. Don't tell my boss I said this.
After receiving two emails from our personal concierge Nordo, listing good times and events in the coming months, I felt it necessary to bring that all together in a nice orderly fashion - hence the creation of The Great Field Racers' Blog. Designed to inform and educate our wacky group of up-and-coming events that we all enjoy so well.
I know, I know - a lot of this can be done via Facebook, but you know what - I don't have Facebook and I really don't want it. I don't want "Greg" from 9th grade attempting to 'friend' me. I wasn't his friend then, why would I be his friend now? "Susie" can suck it (not literally), and I don't want to be associated with "Charlie" and his group of misfits.
Why not just block them you ask? Glad you asked. Right now to Greg, Susie, and Charlie I am a distant memory that would only be triggered if one of them were browsing the 1999 Magnet (holler bitches!). Unless one of them has some unhealthy obsession with me, which I'm sure I would have known by now, they don't give a shit about me. But the second one of them 'friends' me (wouldn't it be "befriends" me in proper English?) and I ignore their request, I then become a jerk.
I am indeed a jerk in some aspects of life (get the fuck up Styx!), but for the most part I am a decent human merely trying to hang out with people with whom I actually enjoy my time. That's you assholes!
So, I created a Calendar of Events at the bottom of the main page, there will be some additional information listed on the left side of the page, random posts will appear for certain events, the comments section will be open for everyone to discuss things instead of clogging up our email, and yes, I will give the option at the bottom of the posts to send the information to Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, whatever the hell social site you use the most.
We'll see in the next few months is something like this is worth the time. If it is worth the time then great, I'll do the best that I can to be sure we all know what is going on all of the time. If it's useless then we'll stop.
If you feel it will be helpful then sign up as a follower and you will automatically receive notification of new events and such.
Take care slimedogs. Those of you heading to Put-In-Bay this weekend I'll see you tomorrow, everyone else I'll see you whenever.
