The Week That Was: 9/5 - 9/12: Hattz Golf Scramble and The Big Pour

Great weather accompanied a great week of activities to wind down the summer.

 2010 Hattz Golf League Invitational

The fourth annual Hattz League Invitational saw a decent turnout of decent golfers on a decent day.  No one team rose substantially above the rest (thanks in part to Aaron Zirnsack not partaking), but Curt and Aaron (Hobaugh) did lead the field shooting a +5 over par on the day.

The Longest Drive competition was held on hole 10.  Big John hit the ball the furthest, but his ball did not end up in the fairway.  I believe Curt and Aaron won with a weak 200 yard drive that barely made it the distance TO the fairway, let alone settling in the fairway.

Closest to The Pin was won by Aaron and Curt on hole 17 by a mere three inches.

Longest Putt was won by I believe Trevor and Brant on hole 6.

Here are some photos of the golf outing and the after party:

I forgot eveyone's actual team names, sorry.

We are going to attempt to go large scale next year.  More cost to play, a nice dinner included, raffles and prizes given, possibly renting the back room of the course, all proceeds going to charity.  We have been talking about the possibility for a few years now and feel it's time.  We'll keep you posted.

2010 Pittsburgh Big Pour

Thanks again to Nordo for getting tickets for the 6 of us that attended the great Big Pour.  Also for the gathering afterward and the nice meal at Pino's.  There's no need to reiterrate but he's the man.

What an experience though.  If you have never been to a Beer/Brew festival - GO!  If you enjoy the finer beers in life this is the best way to sample many (many, many) of them from around the country and the world.

The cool thing about the Big Pour is that it is held at Construction Junction, which is a recycled building materials warehouse, so they're all about sustainability, reuse, and recycling.

They put on a spectacular event for a great cause, and of course the beer was awesome.  Hopefully one of us wins one of the raffled off kegerators that were designed by local artists.  That would make it all the better.

Here are some photos:

There were some hilarious videos amoung the photos, I'm unable to view them at work so If they do not work as part of the slideshow I'll post them separately.

Also in case you dudes and chicks did not know, you can click on the slideshow and it will take you to the Picasa page in case you want any of the photos that show up on the slideshows.

There were also a few birthdays this past week.  Both Miller and Ann's were on September 5th, and Marky's was on September 11th.  Happy Birthday guys and gal.

Not much going on in the near future - if i'm missing something let me know.  It IS Steeler season though, so I'm sure we'll be getting together for some games.  Keep an eye on the calander for upcoming events.

The Great Field Races Fantasy Football League Week 1 Resuts:

Man, Chad and I had tough weeks.  Good show to Trav though, after going 0-15-1 last season he starts this season at 1-0.
